The VHC house

The new building (VHC) of the Faculty for Veterinary Medine and Animal Science at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala. VHC was inaugurated in September 2014. The photo was taken in the afternoon 2014-12-03.

On the 10th of December at 09:00 – 11:45 a.m., the applicants for the position as Professor in Veterinary Bacteriology will give their presentations in the lecture room Audhumbla in the VHC house at the Ultuna Campus, Uppsala, according to the following agenda:

09:00 – 09:45, Karin Artursson (National Veterinary Institute, Uppsala, Sweden),  ”Bakterier i mjölk som kan orsaka sjukdom både hos djur och människor” (in Swedish).
10:00 – 10:45, Joerg Jores (International Livestock Research Institute, Nairobi, Kenya),   “The smallest bacterium with the biggest impact on cattle in Africa” (in English).
11:00 – 11:45, Bengt Guss (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala, Sweden),  ”Kvarka – en fruktad infektionssjukdom som drabbar hästar” (in Swedish).

    Im wondering, How did you select the biochemical test of Salmonella microorganisms in VetBact, namely; TSIA – gas production and H2S Indole, MR-VP, Simmons Citrate, Catalase, Motility,urease, Carbohydrates fermentation using Arabinose, Cellobiose, Glucose, Lactose, Mannitol, Maltose, Raffinose, Rhamnose, Salicin, Sorbitol, Sucrose, Trehalose, Ornithine decarboxylase. where in fact there are still many of them not listed in VetBACt? What is your criteria in chosing them? Thank you and more power..
